Pengumuman ini menandai langkah besar untuk salah satu franchise FPS paling populer di dunia. Paramount, studio di balik film sukses seperti Top Gun: Maverick, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, dan Gladiator II, dipercaya untuk menangani proyek adaptasi ambisius ini.
CEO Paramount, David Ellison, yang mengaku sebagai penggemar berat Call of Duty, menyebut proyek ini sebagai mimpi yang jadi kenyataan.
“Sebagai penggemar seumur hidup Call of Duty, ini benar-benar sebuah impian. Kami diberi kepercayaan oleh Activision dan jutaan pemain di seluruh dunia untuk membawa semesta Call of Duty ke layar lebar, dan itu merupakan sebuah kehormatan sekaligus tanggung jawab besar. Sementara itu, presiden Activision Rob Kostich menegaskan bahwa film ini akan tetap setia pada identitas Call of Duty yang penuh aksi dan cerita mendalam.
“Call of Duty selalu menghadirkan aksi luar biasa dan kisah intens yang menyatukan jutaan orang di seluruh dunia. Dengan Paramount, kami menemukan mitra hebat untuk membawa pengalaman itu ke layar lebar. Tujuan kami sederhana — menciptakan sebuah film blockbuster yang tak terlupakan untuk komunitas kami, sekaligus menarik generasi baru penggemar,”
kata Kostich.
Seri Call of Duty Mana yang Akan Dijadikan Film?
Meski belum ada konfirmasi resmi, banyak spekulasi beredar mengenai seri Call of Duty mana yang akan diadaptasi. Pilihan populer di kalangan fans antara lain:
- Modern Warfare – Seri ini dianggap paling ikonik dengan karakter seperti Captain Price dan Soap MacTavish, serta cerita penuh intrik militer modern. Modern Warfare juga dikenal dengan adegan sinematiknya yang cocok diadaptasi ke layar lebar.
- Black Ops – Dengan latar Perang Dingin, intrik politik, dan karakter populer seperti Alex Mason dan Frank Woods, seri ini punya potensi kuat menjadi film thriller spionase penuh aksi.
