Kabar buruk datang untuk MindsEye, game besutan Leslie Benzies yang sejak awal perilisannya sudah menuai banyak kontroversi. Berdasarkan data terbaru dari Metacritic, MindsEye kini resmi menjadi game dengan rating terburuk di tahun 2025. Game ini hanya mampu meraih Metascore 43 dari berbagai media dan User Score 2,6/10 dari pemain. Angka ini menempatkan MindsEye di posisi paling bawah dari 183 game yang telah rilis sepanjang tahun ini.

Rendahnya skor MindsEye tentu bukan tanpa alasan. Sejak awal dirilis, game ini viral karena banyak video bug aneh yang tersebar di media sosial, mulai dari karakter yang terbang hingga kendaraan menembus bangunan. Selain itu, banyak pemain mengeluhkan gameplay yang kaku, dunia yang terlalu linear, dan tidak adanya fitur pertarungan jarak dekat menggunakan tangan kosong.
Karena banyaknya keluhan, Sony bahkan membuka opsi refund untuk para pemain yang membeli MindsEye di PlayStation Store. Kebijakan ini jadi respons atas gelombang protes pemain yang merasa kecewa dengan kualitas game yang sebelumnya digadang-gadang sebagai “GTA Killer” ini.
Developer Janjikan Perbaikan di Update Berikutnya
Di tengah gelombang kritik, pihak pengembang Build a Rocket Boy akhirnya buka suara. Mereka mengumumkan rencana untuk melakukan perbaikan besar-besaran terhadap MindsEye. Beberapa masalah utama yang akan jadi fokus perbaikan antara lain bug teknis, penyempurnaan gameplay, hingga potensi penambahan fitur yang selama ini diharapkan pemain.
Meski begitu, banyak gamer masih menyayangkan kondisi MindsEye saat ini. Game yang seharusnya jadi pesaing berat untuk genre open world justru gagal memenuhi standar dan ekspektasi pasar. Kini, tinggal menunggu apakah janji perbaikan dari developer benar-benar bisa mengangkat kembali reputasi MindsEye di mata komunitas.
