Akhirnya yang ditunggu-tunggu datang juga! Capcom resmi mengumumkan seri terbaru dari franchise horor survival legendaris mereka, Resident Evil 9, pagi ini lewat acara Summer Game Fest 2025. Game terbaru ini diberi judul Resident Evil Requiem, dan langsung menghadirkan trailer perdana yang sukses bikin komunitas pecinta horor heboh.
Hadirkan Wajah Baru Sebagai Karakter Utama
Dalam trailer tersebut, Capcom memperkenalkan karakter baru bernama Grace Ashcroft, seorang agen FBI yang ternyata adalah anak dari Alyssa Ashcroft, karakter yang sebelumnya pernah muncul di Resident Evil: Outbreak. Grace ditugaskan untuk menyelidiki sebuah kasus pembunuhan di hotel misterius — yang ternyata adalah tempat ibunya dulu tewas.
Seperti tradisi di seri Resident Evil, kasus ini nggak sekadar soal pembunuhan biasa. Ada penyakit aneh yang bikin para korban tewas satu per satu, dan tentu saja, berbagai makhluk mengerikan ikut bermunculan. Nuansa horor dan ketegangan khas Resident Evil langsung terasa dari cuplikan singkatnya.
Balik Lagi Ke Raccoon City
Yang paling bikin fans lama senyum-senyum nostalgia, trailer ini juga menampilkan sekilas reruntuhan Raccoon City, kota legendaris yang jadi lokasi insiden outbreak pertama akibat eksperimen bioweapon milik Umbrella. Bahkan, Capcom sempat memperlihatkan penampakan singkat kantor polisi RPD yang ikonik itu. Kehadiran kota ini jelas jadi angin segar buat para veteran seri Resident Evil, sekaligus membuka banyak teori soal keterkaitannya dengan cerita baru di Resident Evil 9.
Bakal Bisa Dicoba di Gamescom 2025
Capcom juga mengumumkan bahwa Resident Evil Requiem akan bisa dicoba langsung di acara pembuka Gamescom 2025, tepatnya di Opening Night Live yang dijadwalkan berlangsung Agustus mendatang. Di sana, kemungkinan besar kita bakal disuguhi first look gameplay yang lebih mendalam, sekaligus detail baru soal cerita dan mekaniknya.
Tanggal Rilis Sudah Ditentukan
Sebagai penutup trailer, Capcom akhirnya mengumumkan jadwal rilis resmi Resident Evil 9: Requiem. Game ini dijadwalkan meluncur pada 27 Februari 2026 dan akan tersedia di platform PC, PlayStation 5, dan Xbox Series X.
Buat para fans Resident Evil, sepertinya petualangan horor yang penuh teror dan misteri bakal kembali hadir dengan kisah dan suasana baru, tapi tetap mempertahankan nuansa klasiknya. Jadi, siap-siap aja — kayaknya kita bakal dibuat ketakutan (dan ketagihan) lagi!
